This was in the Morning Journal today. I told my kids that altho I do not want a funeral I do NOT want this sort of obit. Good heavens. Robert knew the former husband from work who also smoked like a chimney. Wow!

MARION — JoAnne M. Renzhofer, age 62 passed away March 5,2010 after a fierce battle with lung cancer.

Even though she smoked like a chimney her entire life she was positive the cancer was not from smoking.

JoAnne was born on July 11th, 1947 to Ralph (Bob) Harlan Jerome and Juanita Ruth Blair Jerome. She was married to James G Renzhofer for 17 years. Even though they were divorced he was still the love of her life. They are now together again in heaven.

Surviving JoAnne are her two sons Jerome (Suzanna) of Marion, Ohio. Eric (Michelle) Renzhofer of Columbus, Ohio and daughter Wendi (Dan) Roth of Minnesota. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her favorite grandson/son Grant J. Renzhofer whom she helped raise.

JoAnne is preceeded in death by her father Ralph Jerome, mother Juanita Jerome, brother Ralph H. Jerome Jr. (Bobbin), sister Rosalie Cruz, daughter, Christie Nicole Renzhofer and best friend Darlene Huskey (Lorain, Ohio).

The family wishes to thank her nieces in Marion, Ohio who cared for her after she returned to her birthplace just months ago to find peace. We wish that everyone remember our mom not as the hard, gruff person she portrayed but as the most kind hearted person in the world. God bless you mommy and we will see you soon in the great heaven above. Love ya, Eric.

All arrangements are being handled by Boyd funeral home in Marion, Ohio. No showing, no nothing — it is what it is.
